Leia em portuguêsPlocket turns your real plants into pixel buddies and helps you care for them. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the app, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Plocket is made by Gabriel Fagundes, in Brazil, who is the controller of your personal data under Brazil’s LGPD and, for people in Europe, the GDPR. Contact: hello@getplocket.com.
What we collect
- Account. Your email address, if you sign in with email, or the anonymous identifier Apple gives us with Sign in with Apple (and your name, if you choose to share it). You can also use Plocket as a guest with no email at all.
- Plant photos. The photos you take to identify a plant, diagnose a leaf or build a plant’s photo timeline. They are stored privately and only you can see them.
- Profile. An optional display name and profile photo, and your progress: plants, care history, points, streaks, badges and outfits.
- Device. A push notification token if you turn reminders on, your time zone so reminders arrive at sensible hours, and your app language.
- Purchases. Whether Plocket Plus is active and when it renews. Apple handles payment; we never see your card.
- Usage. Simple events about how the app is used (for example, that a buddy was adopted or a paywall was shown), linked to your Plocket account identifier, never to your email.
- Server logs. Technical records, including IP addresses, kept to keep the service secure and to stop abuse.
How we use it
- Identify the species in your photos, draw its buddy and, with Plus, assess a sick leaf.
- Schedule the care reminders you turn on and show your care on the lock screen.
- Keep your garden, progress and purchases in sync and safe.
- Run rankings and public profiles, and keep them free of abuse.
- Understand which parts of the app help people care for their plants, so we can improve it.
We process data to provide the service you asked for, for our legitimate interest in keeping it secure and improving it, and with your consent where the law asks for it (for example, notifications). You can withdraw consent at any time in the app or in your iPhone settings.
What other gardeners see
If you take part in rankings, other gardeners see your display name (or an automatic name such as “Gardener-4821”), your level, streak and badges. Your public profile is on by default and also shows your profile photo and your garden as pixel buddies; you can turn it off in Settings, or leave rankings altogether. A new profile photo is checked by an automated moderation service before anyone else sees it. Other gardeners never see your email or your plant photos.
What we never do
- No advertising, no ad tracking and no tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
- We never sell your data.
- We never publish your plant photos.
Who helps us run Plocket
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Pl@ntNet: receives plant photos to identify the species.
- OpenAI: receives plant photos or species names to identify plants when Pl@ntNet is unavailable, draw buddies, write plant facts, assess sick leaves for Plus, and check new profile photos.
- Cloudflare: stores your photos privately and serves this website.
- Neon: hosts our database in the European Union.
- Hetzner: hosts our servers.
- Resend: delivers sign-in emails.
- Expo and Apple: deliver push notifications and Live Activities.
- Apple and RevenueCat: handle subscriptions.
- PostHog: product analytics, hosted in the European Union, without using your IP address for location.
Some of these services are outside your country, including in the United States. When data leaves Brazil or the European Union, we rely on the safeguards those laws allow, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. Guest gardens that stay inactive for 90 days are deleted automatically, unless they ever had Plus. When you delete your account (You, Settings, Delete account), we permanently remove your account, photos, plants and progress. Copies in short-lived backups disappear when those backups expire.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, to know who we share it with, and to object to or limit how we use it. Most of this is in the app; for anything else write to hello@getplocket.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Brazil, the ANPD).
Children
Plocket is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update it here, change the date above and, when it matters, tell you in the app.
